SURVIVING COVID 19
It has been close to 6 months since the outbreak of this deadly virus CORONA VIRUS.This virus has greatly affected everyone worldwide and no one is safe at all from this virus.
Looking at how Kenya,to be specific is struggling to survive this disease,I can say there are positive measures that have been put in place to ensure the safety of all Kenyans. Such measures include; staying at home unless it's necessary to leave, wearing a mask when leaving your home, washing or sanitising your hands, locking down the most affected counties and maintaining social distancing of 1.5m apart.
However, the Kenyan government has also failed in other ways. An example is the current situation in Kariobangi,Nairobi county. What is currently going on in that place is so inhuman. Could they not wait for the current COVID 19 Cass to be over for them to demolish those structures? The same government is insisting on social distancing, my question is,how will these people maintain the distance if they have to keep moving around helping each other carry their belonging to a safer distance.
Secondly, the current flooding calamity being experienced within the country. This is not the first time this is happening in the country. If I can recall, this happened last year in December. Despite this being a natural calamity, the government should have constructed dams of even come up with ways to help residents of some of the areas that could be affected again incase such a thing ever happens again. Now that the deadly virus is here, the issue of social distancing is becoming a problem. The victims from the affected areas are being sent to camps where it will be very difficult for the citizens to maintain the required distance due to congestion. This could have been solved even before it happened again this year now that we have a serious issue at hand.
Another issue is the issuing of travel permits. Any one in a county that is under lockdown should remain there and should not leave under no circumstance. This is because, the issuing of travel permits can also cause serious threats to other counties that are still not affected with this pandemic. People traveling from these counties could possibly spread this virus to people in other counties leading to even more harm and danger to the residents of those counties.
This is just a question not a fact... My other question is, how did the prisoners get infected with COVID19? Was it through the police officers? Does it mean that the police officers are not also taking necessary precautions? Remember these are not these are just questions not facts... Even though Corona virus is an airborne diseases.....I can say Kenyans are finding it hard surviving this pandemic even though some are trying their best to obey the government's safety measures even though it's the same government that is letting everyone down in some way
